24p and 30 p in same project

Alright, i have asked a similar question to this before and i am expierementing still so please bare with me. I have an up and coming film which i was thinking about shooting 24p along with 30p. The video will show a couple people in there everday life. The only reason i was going to use 30p was because i wanted to shoot my interviews with two cameras. I have a vx 2100 and 100b. The outside everday life i wanted to shoot 24p.

SO here come the questions. Will this look "wiered" using the differnt modes in this way and what is your opinion on it.

NExt thing i am still trying to figure out is editing. I did some test shots with my dx in which i used 24p and 30p on the same tape. I imported the footy and brought it into a 29.97 timeline and everything looked fine. Am i suppose to have 24p footage on a 29.97 timeline?? I am not to fimiliar with all this and just trying to learn.

What are you editing with?

Yes, 24P (regular) is cut on a 29.97 timeline. 24PAdvanced is where things need to get switched around.

They won't look perfect together, but with some effort in post, you should be able to work with them.

i think 24p should be on 29.97, but 24pa should be on a 23.98

i shoot on 30 and put video only into a 23 timeline but ive never done both a/v cuz ive heard in order to get both a/v you must download seperate and sync the audio is this true? when you do your project miller let me know how you handled the audio plz. thanx

Thanks a bunch guys for the quick responses! I am editing with Fcp 5. I was thinking about converting my 30p footage to 24p using After Effects 7 if i ended up shooting some with 24p. I dont know if this is the best idea or not. Im thinking that it might be best for me to just shoot everything in 30 so i dont run into problems. I have one more question which doesnt really pertain to anything i asked but i thought i may as well through it out there. Would you guys reccomend trying to get my shot the way i want it to look (ie. warmth, gamma, etc) or is it better to do it in post. I have Film magic pro and it has some AWESOME presets! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Converting 30p to 24p rarely results in good footage. It'll be choppy and have ghosting around moving objects. There just aren't enough motion samples in 30p to make a good conversion.
