Anyone have any luck removing noise in post from too high a detail setting while shooting? Can you share how?

I used to use the Anti-Alias filter with a value of 1 or 2 on my 60i footage to soften it a little. Give that a shot. Not sure if that's what your problem is or not. Not sure what 'noise' you are seeing.

Thanks, I'll try it...

The noise I'm talking about is fairly extreme graininess in midrange-brightness areas of certain colors (at 0dB gain, yo). This shows up most (for me) in reddish wood (such as the paneling on the back of many classical music stages). Dropping detail level (usually to -5 to -7) fixes or ameliorates this (with the associated loss of sharpness). On one recent occasion, I of course left the detail level at 0...

If no-one else knows what I'm talking about let me know... maybe I'll then send my camera in for service and magically get an "A" in return...
