If you rasterize the EPS version, please make sure you don't change the colors. They should match the attached PNG version above.

Do we have to use the big blue thing? The Kinetica font is BA, btw.

Font is Bell Gothic and yes--you must use the whole logo. The client will go ballistic if the teardrop is missing or the wrong color.

So is that pronounced: kin-e-TEE-kah?

Barry:
Are you using CS3? I have CS2 and it's giving me the old "...newer version..." message and then it crops the logo badly. The .EPS file won't even open.
Any help?
Thanks.

Opening it in Photoshop changes the color to purplish. I'll see what I can do.

Is the grayish area around the tear drop part of the logo or is that transparent?
Barry_S
06-14-2007, 09:25 AM
I did the logo in AI CS3 so maybe that's causing some compatability probs. I'll save as an earlier version and we'll post those as well. The background outside of the teardrop is transparent.

Can we improve on the logo but keep the same font and idea of a tear drop?

Will it affect the contest if I take the client to Aruba on my private jet?
Barry_S
06-14-2007, 10:11 AM
Oh yeah--that would affect the contest all right. The client is very partial to private jets, tropical islands, expensive dinners and high class--uhhh...ladies.
Mark Harris

Note to self: get a private jet.

I'm expressing my happiness toward disallowing modifying of the logo. No real brand, no matter how small, will allow you to skewer their logo in any way shape or form. Sometimes, you're not even allowed to extrude it into 3D space because it can become an entirely different logo once you make that leap.
Loving this Fest.

I have NO time, but came up with a simple idea we should be able to do, and we have the location necessary.

I can never seem to compile a simple idea. Poor I be havin' to make calls around to see if I can find a place to shoot.
Hopefully, though, I can get it!

I also thought about doing one completely composited or animated.
These guys are pretty amazing and actually inspirational, considering how much I despise advertising:

You're not kidding about that MASS MARKET reel. That was a seriously high octane ride full of jet fuel and hard eye-candy visuals!

can you lower the opacity for the logo? like %50 when someone is speaking?
spooky138
06-25-2007, 06:50 AM
I don't see why it'd be a problem. Remember those old Sinclair Dino Gasoline commercials from the fifties? Their logo would be superimposed over the action, and then it would fade away. Classic! A staple in television advertising.
Barry_S

No problem with that. You can't change the fundamental color, shape, or font, but you can be very creative with how it's displayed.
