what frame rate should i use for my music vdie on my dvxb, 30p?

30 or 24 - 60i will look too much like the news... I'd go 30P just so you wont get as much strobing as you would in 24P. Its really a personal preference thing though. I tend to shoot 24 for just messing around with because I can fit more on a p2 card, but with the DVX you dont have that limitation.

sorry its what the HVX records HD on - solid state cards, no tapes (still has a minidv transport for SD though)

shoot 24p!

If you want to mix in some slow-mo, shoot 60i for those scenes you intend to have slow-mo.

Set your shutter to 1/120 for all your shots, it gives it a nice edge.
Make sure you use different tapes for 24p footage and 60i footage, so you can keep everything organized.

When you are ready to edit, put everything on a 24p timeline and put your 60i scenes on it. Slow those scenes down from 100% to 60%, and *poof*, you have some nice smooth slow motion in your music video. (and it's actually noticable!)
